Elton Cesar, o TOM

Elton Cesar,
TOM.

I’m Elton. But in practice almost everyone calls me TOM.

TOMlab is my space to experiment, design and build. For more than 20 years I have worked with design and technology, connecting experience, business and implementation to turn ideas into digital products people can actually use.

A design signed off in Figma is not a finished project.

For me the work doesn’t end when the interface is signed off. It carries on until the experience makes sense running in the browser or on the phone.

I work close to both UX and front-end to narrow the gap between what was designed and what actually reaches the user. Rather than thinking in isolated screens, I account for behaviour, states, responsiveness, accessibility and implementation from the start.

Branding & Identity

Brands: from paper to digital system.

My relationship with design started through drawing, proportion and typography.

Today an identity has to work from printed material through to the digital interface, holding recognition and consistency at every point of contact.

Tools can generate shapes. Building an identity means understanding what the brand needs to stand for.

What I look for is to turn that understanding into a visual language that is coherent and ready to grow alongside the product or the business.
